DS Release 2 Feb 2022 - Risk Assessment WHS (core functionality)

Release overview

• When: Wednesday 2 February 2022
• What: The core functionality of the Risk Assessment WHS module, which is an independent version of DS's Risk Assessment module enhanced based on StateCover's requirements.
• Who gets these changes:
  • StateCover had it deployed and switched on (staggered release across their multiple end systems).
  • All other clients had it deployed and switched off.

Key changes

The new Risk Assessment WHS module is independent from the existing Risk Assessment module (renamed to "Risk Assessment Standard" for those clients who have Risk Assessment WHS enabled) and inherits its key functionality. It enables the Safety users to capture and track risk assessments activities but also provides extended functionality that:

• Allows using user-customisable organisational language in the UI.
• Allows recording more details for a Risk Assessment.
• Combines the view of Activities/Tasks, related Hazards, identified Risks and Controls on one screen, providing the user with a more complete picture.
• Provides better tools for working with Risk Controls throughout their lifecycle. Possible Future Controls can be entered separately from Current Controls, go through an approval process (individually or in bulk), generate trackable Corrective Actions and, once these are completed, turn into new Current Controls.
• Enhances Risk Review functionality.
• Allows defining Suggested Controls for categories/subcategories of hazards.
• Provides better Print/Export capabilities.
• Allows for granular user access permission to the components of the module.

 

What's next?

In March 2022 we will be releasing a follow-up release which will introduce the extension of the Risk Assessment WHS functionality, including:

• Reporting on the registered Critical Hazards (export into Excel spreadsheets in summary and details views).
• Selecting from predefined the Suggested Controls when adding or editing Hazards.
• Export and import of Suggested Controls for categories and subcategories of Hazards.
