Automatic PDF Creation
Automatic PDF creation allows user to configure templates to conveniently create a PDF for any form that uses the configured template.
Template Configuration
To enable the Automatic PDF in Advanced Settings, PDF Output should be enabled.
By default, the Automatic PDF is switch off. Switching it off enables user to do the usual merge document approach via APE Word Add-in.
Word Template in PDF Automatic Generation
A generic simplified Word template is used to create the PDF file based on the content of the form. The form elements are mapped to the Word paragraph styles as shown below.
Accessing PDF and Document Files
Once the automatic PDF document has been generated, both the PDF file and its corresponding document file can be accessed in the usual ways.
- The PDF file is accessed via the View PDF button or the Download PDF form action
- The document file is accessed via the Download DOCX form action
NOTE: Automatic PDF overrides the existing mapped Word document.
If Automatic PDF is unintentionally toggled on, saved, and published, the user must edit the template, toggle off Automatic PDF then save and publish the changes. It will automatically restore the mapped Word document when viewing and downloading PDF/DOCX.
