Standard Activity Job Templates

Standard Activities can be used as a job template to build breakdown/corrective scenarios reducing job preparation time.

These job templates may include relevant information including checklist, material and resource requirements, instructions and reference to external documents via a library reference.

1. Navigate to your Asset where you want to build your Standard Activity template

 

2. Click the Assets tab button (circled in red), then select the Standard Activity button in the ribbon to open the standard activity form safs110 as per the 2^nd image below.

 3. Add Standard Activity template details using the sample below

1. Enter a Job Title
2. Select a Shop Id by using the down arrow browse
3. Select an Activity Type by using the down arrow browse
4. Select an Activity Cause by using the down arrow browse
5. Select the Job Priority
6. Select the Job Series
7. Enter Estimated Elapsed Hours (duration to perform the activity)

 

4. Click the Save button  to record your information and allocate the next sequential standard activity number (circled in red)

Note:

All other relative information such as Checklist, Instructions, Library Attachments, Materials and Resources etc. can be added now if required or at any time in the future.

Estimated costs are only updated when materials and/or resources are added.

5. CLOSE the Window close option

This will return you to the Workbench

Standard Activity Triggering

Standard Activity triggering commonly known as ‘Asset Standards’ is a table used to identify how a standard activities are linked to an asset.

Standard Activities enable the user to set up preventative maintenance schedules for an asset and also provide a template to be used when raising jobs for an asset, thereby reducing job preparation time.

Care should be taken when creating standard activity/asset links to fully understand the necessary steps required and the design concept of Trigger Actions such as Manual/Automatic and Flexible/Static.

• Manual * The user must manually convert the standard activity into a job in the workbench
• Auto * The application will automatically build the job depending on the trigger type
  • For Periodic triggers, the application will build jobs automatically except for the initial standard activity as the job completed reset triggers governs this process.
  • For Interval triggers, the application will only build the job once the trigger interval next due has been reached or breached.
  • For Range triggers, the application will only build the job once the Low/High has been reached or breached.
  • For Event triggers, this is not applicable
• Flexible * The standard activity will be reset from the actual end date
• Static* The standard activity will be reset from the estimated start data

6. Ensure that you are still navigated to the correct Asset where you built your standard activity

7. Double click the left mouse button on your desired Asset (circled in red) where you want to trigger your standard activity.

When an asset code is selected, it will open the Asset form safs090 as per the 2^nd image below

8. Click the Std Activities tab button (circled in red) to open the asset standards form to trigger your standard activity

9. Enter your ‘Template’ Standard Activity No. in the next blank field (circled in red) and press the Tab key to expand the form

  

10. Select the Accept button (green tick)

11. Click the Save button    to record your information

  

Note:

You have now successfully attached/linked a standard activity template to a single asset.

Templates require no trigger mechanisms to be setup, it is simply a template used to build repetitious maintenance jobs to help reduce data entry time.

If a template is set with a trigger action of ‘Flexible Reset’ you can only use the template once while there is an open job against it. However, if the trigger action is set to ‘N/A’ (not applicable), you can use the same template multiple times even if there is an open job.

12. Select the Windows close option

This will return you to the Workbench
