Form Editing by Approvers is a new feature that streamlines the form approval process. Templates can now be configured to allow approvers to edit specific data fields during their review. This eliminates the need for back-and-forth communication and resubmission in cases where minor data corrections are necessary for approval.
Configuration
Super users may configure each template to allow an approver to edit:
1. On the upper right of the page, click Admin then select Templates.
2. Select the relevant template on the Templates page, then click Edit.
3. Select the Advanced Settings button on the upper right corner of the page.
4. Turn on the "Approvers can edit while approving" setting.
5. Save and publish the template.
What will the approver see if editing by approvers is enabled?
Approvers will see that fields before the approval section are editable.
In cases where a template with multiple approval sections is configured to allow approvers to edit AND an earlier approval section has been approved… the approver in a later approval section can only edit fields that are in between the most recent approved section and the one they are approving/rejecting. Below is the illustration:
Important note:
Saving, and publishing the template after the "Approvers can edit while approving" setting is enabled will create a new version of the form. Hence, approvers will be able to edit the new version of the form. Old versions of the form will remain uneditable for the approvers.
