Administrators can efficiently link any lesson to a skill in the EPP. This enables accurate tracking of employee competencies and the dates they were achieved, across Damstra Learning and the EPP.
How to link a skill to a lesson?
Only users with Admin permissions have the ability to link a skill to a lesson.
To link a skill to a lesson:
- Go to the Lessons page then create a lesson.
- After building the lesson content and optionally adding assessment questions, preview the lesson.
- Once the lesson is to your liking, click the Publish button.
- In the Publish Lesson window, you can create a new skill or link the lesson to an existing skill.
- Click Publish.
How to create a new skill?
If the skill is not yet created in EPP, you can create it in the Publish Lesson window of Damstra Learning.
To create a new skill:
- Select the Create a new skill option.
- Enter the Skill name and Skill code. These can be a combination of letters, numbers and special characters.

You can also link the lesson to an existing skill in the Publish Lesson window.
To link to an existing skill:

- Select the Skill to link to from the dropdown list.
- Click Publish.
Once a lesson with a linked skill has been published, a link icon will appear on the Lessons page. This icon indicates that the lesson is successfully linked to a skill.

The lesson completion is recorded in Damstra Learning in the Results page. Simultaneously, the corresponding skill is automatically added to the employee’s EPP profile.
